This is a brand new series I’m starting where I will be showcasing clothing that I sew. There probably won’t be any tutorials but I’ll link back to where I got inspiration or share the pattern that I used. I’m always looking to see what others have done. I use it to inspire my own designs and I hope my creations can give you inspiration as well! If you have used any of these patterns before let me know in the comments below.

Today, I’m going to share with you my family’s Easter outfits. Having a newborn around, I really hadn’t planned on making anything special for our first major holiday as a family of 4. Then I saw this Blessing Dress pattern and tutorial by See Kate Sew and was absolutely smitten! 😻Lucky me her free pattern is a size 0-3 months. And wouldn’t you know it, I just so happen to currently have an infant wearing size 0-3 months!

What are the odds? 🔮 I absolutely could not pass up this opportunity to create something so dang pretty!

For the baby blessing dress, I used a natural color cotton muslin and some inexpensive ivory lace, both purchased from my local Joann Fabrics.

I quickly realized that I could not make something for one daughter and not the other. This one was a little more difficult to decide.

In the end, I ended up making Lorelei a pinafore dress using Simplicity pattern 8348.

To keep things super simple for my tired mama brain I used the same fabric for both dresses. I bought 4 yards of the same inexpensive muslin fabric that lined Evelyn’s lace gown. Adding bias tape to all edges in a strawberry pink was the pop of color I was looking for!

Would you believe that this bias tape came in a package and just so happened to match my dress perfectly? I was all prepared to make my own bias tape and in the end, I didn’t have to! Which is a good thing because I’m garbage at it. It’s like I go 4 inches and then it gets all wrinkled up, so annoying!

I also made those cute little hair bows with extra bias tape and this youtube tutorial. After making two little bias tape bows I glued them to alligator clips using some e6000 adhesive. I know a lot of people make hair bows using a hot glue gun but I prefer using e6000. Just make sure it gets a least a day to fully dry. That stuff is toxic before drying!

While I didn’t actually sew my out outfit (or hubby’s) I figured I’d share with you where it came from. This strawberry pink flutter sleeve dress from Ann Taylor rocked my world. I love that it camouflaged my post-baby body in such an elegant way. Plus the v-neck made it super easy to nurse in. because you know babies eat like all. the. time. 😬

This modern sparkly rhinestone necklace is also from Ann Taylor. I love this necklace so much. I dress it up and dress it down all the time. It is probably one of my most favorite costume jewelry purchases of all time!

And ze shoes! These metallic gold wedge sandals are by Kate Spade. I typically reserve these shoes for when I’m pregnant or postpartum. Because the arch is actually super flat walking is really easy!

I’ve always been a high heel kind of girl. I would wear platform wedge sandals with jeans nearly every day throughout my senior year of high school. I just always associated being a woman with wearing heels. Now as a homemaker, I wear my Birkenstocks on the regular. However, anytime I have an occasion, I always add some height!

Hubby’s shirt is from TJMaxx. My favorite store for clothes. Need I say more?

I really LOVE sewing for my family. I mean I like sewing for myself but there is so much pride in my work when I can be like, I made this. ALL OF THIS!
