Simple, Easy, CHEAP, and Fast! Update your kid’s scooter using spray paint for a fun improvement they are sure to love!
Begin with a worn-out scooter
I present to you the hoopty scooter! Believe it or not, this little Minnie Mouse scooter is not even 2 years old! I guess it just wasn’t able to stand up to the I say elements because we live in San Diego and I would hardly call 75 degrees year-round. But alas, it is faded and dirty. Tell you what though, So instead of driving over to Target to buy a new $40 scooter, we decided to give it a fresh coat of paint. I was so pleased with how it turned out that I just knew I had to share!
Spray Paint covers well, dries quickly, and sticks without peeling!
Daughter asked for pink, the husband chose this one and it worked out great. Usually, I will spend time pouring over color options, customer reviews, and pricing but honestly I just let this one fly. We used Krylon Fusion All-in-one spray paint Gloss Hot Pink.
Easiest upgrade you’ve ever done.
We decided to take off the wheels and take it apart so it would fit in a box we brought our Costco groceries home in. Tape off the handles, we didn’t think the rubber would hold the paint well. Hubby says the trick is to do light coats, evenly. But I’m a crazy lady with spray paint, so you just follow your heart, okay?
Allow a few hours to dry before reassembling.
We let it dry overnight and reassembled it the next morning. Prepare to have a very happy child. I am also pleased that their toys don’t look nearly as shabby as they used to! This is simple, easy, CHEAP, and fast! Update your kid’s scooter using spray paint for a fun improvement they are sure to love!
