This Boho Gender Neutral Baby Shower is inspired by boho chic, tribal, and organic styles. Before, I would have never considered myself to be an ‘organic’ type of person. I wasn’t afraid of GMOs or energy drinks or High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Until I became pregnant.
All at once, I had the sudden awareness that what I put in my body mattered. It mattered not just to my health but more importantly, the healthy development of my unborn child relied solely on how I took care of my body.
That’s a lot of pressure. And it was a HUGE change for me. A painful, necessary change. Although I never second-guessed my decision to move to a clean life, the breakup from my old life was painful. The transformation during my pregnancy took front and center stage in my life. I broke up with my chemically enhanced beauty products, my afternoon coffee, and all food that wasn’t highly nutritious and organic. I made time for daily yoga and natural self-care aka exfoliating/moisturizing skin every.single.day.
There was no question when it came to the theme of the baby shower.
I had been preparing for my all-natural planned homebirth and was channeling my inner native goddess. I thought about all the millions of women before me, giving birth in teepees and caves or in the dirt. Thinking about those women and what their experiences must have been like made me realize that they were stronger than I would ever need to be.
So in the spirit of all those badass tribal women giving birth naturally without any interventions, here is an inside look at my very own Boho Tribal Gender Neutral Baby Shower. Be sure to leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
Are you planning a natural birth? This theme might be perfect for you!

Guests sat at three long tables decorated with white tablecloths, burlap runners, orange floral print cloth napkins, and succulent centerpieces. As a bonus, names were drawn from a hat to see who got to take home the centerpieces at the end!

A delicious spread of organic eats was a mixture of homemade salads and Whole Foods sandwiches and wraps. We even had a platter of sushi – which I chose not to enjoy. 😫

Large dispensers provided lemonade, berry water, and cucumber water to party people. Although infused water is so pretty and fun, be sure to also offer guests the option of plain water as well!

The buffet table was cleared and rearranged to host dessert. Fresh fruit, organic chocolate chip cookies, and an organic chantilly strawberry naked cake were offered to guests.
Sometimes keeping it simple is best!

Here I am sweating and glowing at 32 weeks pregnant. I wore a white crochet lace non-maternity dress purchased at Forever 21 and a pair of brown leather Lucky Brand tassel sandals purchased at TJMaxx. My jewelry choices included teal feather earrings, layered leather, beaded bracelets, and a dream catcher necklace. Altogether, this outfit made me feel like one natural boho mama – perfect with the theme of the shower (and my pregnancy!)
